Charities @ SAMS
For many businesses the opportunity to ‘give back’ to the community comes high on the agenda. However, finding a way to do something about it often poses more of a challenge. Community and Business Partners' Charities @ SAMS schemes make this prospect more feasible.

Charities @ SAMS encourages employers to allow their staff-time to put something back into their communities as part of their own development and the Company’s overall Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Charities @ SAMS is sponsored by Europrintt.

Whether through gifts of resources, short-term secondments or team-building challenges, each share a common goal; to support and add value to good local causes or to help support and give to the community. The projects allow employees to develop their skills whilst companies raise their profile.

Employee Community Involvement

Community groups then benefit from the hands on support they’re given. Today, Charities @ SAMS is as strong as ever with more and more companies helping community projects via the initiative. In fact, to date Charities @ SAMS has run more than 200 Community Challenges with over 100 companies since it began and that number continues to grow. The high profile Christmas and Easter Challenges are also consistently well-supported.

SAMS (Scrap Art Material Store)
SAMS first opened its doors at Newton Street Mill in Blackburn. An Aladdin’s cave of creative goodies it collects, displays and offers a huge assortment of recycled goods. With the help of donations from public and private organisations, SAMS places the spotlight firmly on recycling, actively encouraging environmental awareness within the local business community.

Guardians

From fabrics and ribbon to reams of tin-foil, SAMS has it all under one roof, creating a unique environment for the community to engage in.

Companies reduce their carbon footprint and develop social responsibility - not to mention boosting their profits.

SAMS has created a network of companies and members across the region and works tirelessly, creating partnerships with other recycling projects across the whole country. In 2010 SAMS moved into a new centre on Newfield Drive in Blackburn. With larger premises we can have more volunteers and even more creative crafts.
